When you create an account we collect your email address, display name, and username. During onboarding you may share preferences such as vibes, budget, neighborhoods, and an optional city for your profile. Content you create in the app — saved lists, reviews, ratings, and deal verification votes — is stored with your account. We do not use analytics trackers, advertising SDKs, or behavioral profiling: we do not record which venues you browse.
With your permission, HourHunt uses your device location to show distances to venues and sort nearby happy hours. Your location is processed entirely on your device — it is never transmitted to or stored on our servers. You can use the whole app without granting location access.
We use your information to operate HourHunt: showing your profile to other users (display name, username, and avatar only — never your email), personalising deal recommendations from your stated preferences, and sending only the notifications you have turned on. Your notification choices are enforced on our servers, not just hidden in the app.
Your display name, username, avatar, public lists, and non-anonymous reviews are visible to other users. Private lists are visible only to you and members you add — this is enforced by our database, not just the interface. Reviews posted anonymously have your identity removed at the data level, so it cannot be recovered through the app or its API. Deal verifications are shown only as community percentages, never as individual votes.
We do not sell or rent your personal information, and HourHunt shows no third-party ads. We use a small number of service providers to run the app: Supabase (database, authentication, and storage), Expo (app platform and notification token issuance), and Google (converting venue street addresses to map coordinates — venue addresses only, never your location). Each processes data solely to operate HourHunt.
If you enable notifications, we send alerts for the deal of the day, happy hours at saved spots, and activity on your lists (new followers and added spots). Every category can be turned off independently in Settings or disabled entirely in your device settings.
Your data is kept while your account is active. Deleting your account (Settings → Delete account) takes effect immediately: your sign-in record, profile, email, lists, follows, notification history, and device tokens are permanently removed. Reviews and verification votes are kept in fully anonymized form so community ratings stay accurate — they can no longer be linked to you.
Your session credentials are stored encrypted in your device's secure keychain. All data access is enforced by row-level database rules, and connections use TLS encryption. No internet service can promise perfect security, but access to your data is restricted at the database layer, not just the app layer.
You can view and edit your profile, preferences, and content at any time in the app, and delete your account entirely from Settings without contacting us. If you have a question or request about your data, contact us and we will respond as soon as we can.
HourHunt is a general-audience app and is not directed to children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, contact us and we will delete it.
If we make material changes to this policy we will notify you in the app. Continued use after changes take effect constitutes acceptance.
